Blur faces and number plates
Faces are found for you. Draw a box over number plates, names or anything else, then save the photo at full size. It runs on your device, so your photo is never uploaded.
Drop a photo here
You can also paste one with Ctrl+V. Works with JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF. The face finder downloads once, about 5 MB.

How to blur faces in a photo
- Drop a photo on the page, choose one from your device, or paste one.
- Faces are found and covered for you. Check the photo for any that were missed.
- Drag across the photo, or tap Add a box, to hide a number plate, a name or anything else. Drag a box to move it, or a corner to resize it.
- Choose Blur, Pixelate or Solid, and download.
Number plates and text
Number plates are not found automatically, so box each one by hand. For text, Solid is the safest style, because blurred or pixelated letters can sometimes be guessed. Before you share, also check reflections, screens and documents in the background.
Questions
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Faces are found and hidden by your own browser, on your device. The photo is never sent to Nookbyte or anyone else. The first time, your browser downloads the face finder, about 5 MB, and keeps it for next time.
Can someone undo the blur?
No. The tool does not lay a see-through filter over an area. It replaces every pixel inside it. Blur and Pixelate rebuild the area from a handful of average colours, at most 7 across its shorter side, plus a little random noise, so the detail is gone from the saved file, not hidden in it. Weak pixelation of text can sometimes be guessed by trying every possible plate or word, which is why the blocks here are large. For number plates, names and other text, Solid is the safest choice, because it leaves nothing to guess.
Does it find number plates?
No. Only faces are found automatically. Draw a box over each number plate, name badge, house number or screen you want hidden. On a computer, drag across the photo. On a phone, tap Add a box and move it into place.
Why did it miss a face?
Faces that are turned away, upside down, tilted far, covered or only a few pixels tall can be missed. Always look over the photo before you share it, and add a box over any face that is not covered.
Does it keep the full size of my photo?
Yes. The saved photo has the same width and height as the original and the same file type for JPG, PNG and WebP. Other types, such as GIF or AVIF, are saved as JPG or PNG.
Does it remove location data?
Yes. The saved file is a new image, so the location, date, camera model and other details stored in the original photo are left out. That matters just as much as the faces when you share a photo.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how many photos you blur.
