Questions

Is my image uploaded?

No. Your browser opens and crops the image on your own device. It is never sent to Nookbyte or anyone else, and the tool keeps working if you go offline after the page loads.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how many images you crop.

Will cropping lower the quality?

Cropping keeps the original pixels. Save as PNG for no quality loss, or as JPG or WebP at quality 90 for a much smaller file that looks the same. If you ask for a size larger than the area you cropped, the image has to be enlarged and can look soft. The tool warns you when that happens.

Which files can I open?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF work in every modern browser, and Safari can usually open HEIC photos from an iPhone too. An animated GIF is saved as a still image.

What size should Shopify and Etsy product photos be?

Shopify says square product photos display best at 2048 × 2048 pixels, and accepts up to 5000 × 5000. Etsy asks for listing photos at least 2000 pixels wide and tall, with a landscape or square first photo. Under "Exact size for", choose Shopify or Etsy and pick the size. The saved file comes out at exactly that size.

How do I crop a photo for Instagram?

Under "Exact size for", choose Instagram, then "Post, square" or "Post, portrait". The frame locks to that shape, and the saved file is exactly 1080 × 1080 or 1080 × 1350 pixels.

Does it remove location data?

Yes. The saved file is a new image, so the location, camera model and other details stored in the original photo are not copied into it.
