Giveaway winner picker

Paste the comments from your post, set the rules, and draw the winners fairly. You copy the comments yourself: this page never connects to Instagram, TikTok or any other site, and what you paste stays in your browser.

accounts
Your own account, staff, or anyone who cannot win. One per line or separated by commas. The @ is optional.

How to pick a giveaway winner

  1. On a computer, open your post, load all the comments, select them and copy them.
  2. Paste them here. The picker finds who commented and which accounts each comment tagged. Open Check the entries to see the list.
  3. Set the rules: one entry per person, how many friends each comment must tag, and who to leave out.
  4. Press Pick. Download the result card to share, and keep the entry list so anyone can check the fingerprint.

How the draw stays fair

Each winner is drawn with crypto.getRandomValues, the secure random generator built into your browser. Rejection sampling throws away the few random values that would make some entries more likely than others, and a Fisher–Yates shuffle draws winners and alternates without repeats. The SHA-256 fingerprint on the card is taken from the entry list itself: every entry in lowercase, sorted, one per line, which is exactly the file you download.

Questions

Does it read the comments from Instagram or TikTok?

No. You copy the comments yourself and paste them in. This page never connects to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook or any other site, so there is nothing to log in to, and nothing you paste leaves your browser.

How do I copy the comments?

On a computer, open the post and load all the comments, including replies if replies count. Select the comments with your mouse, copy them, and paste them here. The picker skips the extra text that comes with them, such as times, like counts and Reply. Open Check the entries to see exactly who it found.

Is the draw fair?

Yes. Winners are drawn with crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's secure random generator, using rejection sampling and a Fisher–Yates shuffle, so every entry has exactly the same chance. With one entry per person, someone who commented ten times has the same chance as someone who commented once.

What does the SHA-256 fingerprint show?

It is a fingerprint of the exact entry list: every entry in lowercase, sorted, one per line. Download the entry list and anyone can check it, for example with shasum -a 256 on a Mac or Get-FileHash in Windows PowerShell. A matching fingerprint shows the list was not changed after the draw. It cannot show that nobody drew more than once, so share the card from your first draw.

How does the tag rule work?

If your giveaway says "tag 2 friends", set the minimum to 2. A comment counts when it tags at least that many different accounts, not counting the commenter. With one entry per person, a person is in the draw if any of their comments qualifies.

What are alternates?

Backup winners, in order. If a winner does not reply or is not eligible, give the prize to the first alternate, then the next.

Is it free?

Yes. No account, no limit on entries, and no watermark on the result card.
