How to convert a PDF to JPG

  1. Drop your PDF on the page, or choose it from your device.
  2. Choose JPG or PNG, and a resolution. 150 DPI suits most uses.

Questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Your browser turns the pages into images on this device, and the PDF is never sent to Nookbyte or anyone else. The only thing the page downloads is code: its PDF reader, when you first use it.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no page limit.

Which DPI should I choose?

150 DPI suits most uses: sharp on screens and fine for printing text. Use 300 DPI for print-quality images or to zoom into small print, and 72 DPI for small images to send or post. Higher DPI means more pixels and bigger files.

JPG or PNG?

JPG makes much smaller files and is right for most pages, especially ones with photos. PNG keeps every pixel exactly, which suits pages with fine lines or text you want perfectly crisp, but the files are several times larger.

How do I convert only some pages?

Click pages in the grid to select or clear them, or type pages such as 1-3, 5, 8- in the Pages box. To save a single page right away, use the download button on that page.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

If the PDF needs a password to open, not here. Open it in your PDF app, enter the password, choose Print and save it with "Save as PDF", then add the new copy. PDFs that open without a password but block editing convert fine.

Why is my image smaller than the DPI I chose?

Very large pages, such as posters, would make images too big for a browser to hold. Those pages are saved at the highest resolution that fits, and the tool tells you when that happens.

PDFs are read with pdf.js and written with pdf-lib, both free open-source software.
