You can also paste images with Ctrl+V. Works with JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF, up to 200 at a time.

How to resize product photos in bulk

  1. Drop your photos on the page, choose them from your device, or paste them. You can add up to 200 at a time.
  2. Under Size, pick Shopify, an Etsy size, a square size, or type your own.
  3. Keep Fit inside to show the whole product on a white background, or pick Fill and crop to fill the frame.
  4. Choose JPG, PNG or WebP, then download each photo or all of them in one .zip file.

Each photo is saved as name-2048x2048.jpg, so you can tell the sizes apart. Change a setting at any time and every photo is done again with the new setting.

Questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Your browser opens, resizes and saves the photos on your own device. They are never sent to Nookbyte or anyone else, and the tool keeps working if you go offline after the page loads.

Will the product get cut off?

Not with Fit inside, which is the default. Each photo is scaled so all of it fits the size you chose, and the space left over is filled with white, a colour you pick, or nothing at all for a see-through PNG or WebP. Choose Fill and crop only when you want the photo to fill the frame and you don't mind losing its edges.

What size should Shopify product photos be?

Shopify says square product photos display best at 2048 × 2048 pixels, and accepts up to 5000 × 5000. Pick Shopify under Size and every photo comes out at exactly 2048 × 2048.

What size should Etsy listing photos be?

Etsy asks for listing photos at least 2000 pixels wide and tall, with a landscape or square first photo. Pick Etsy under Size and choose the landscape 3000 × 2250 or the square 2000 × 2000 size.

What does trimming plain borders do?

It cuts away edges that are all one plain colour, such as the empty white space around a product shot on a white background, before the photo is fitted. The product then fills more of the frame. Only edges that match the corner colour closely are cut, so the product and its shadow are kept.

How do I keep each photo under 1 MB?

Tick "Keep each file under" and set the limit. The tool lowers the JPG or WebP quality only as far as it needs to. If even a low quality is too big, it makes that photo smaller in pixels and says so on the photo.

Are phone photos saved the right way up?

Yes. Phones save some photos sideways with a note that says which way is up. Your browser follows that note when it opens the photo, so the resized file comes out the right way up.

Does it remove location data?

Yes. Each photo is saved as a new image, so the location, camera model and other details stored in the original are not copied into it.

Which files can I open?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF work in every modern browser. Safari can usually open HEIC photos from an iPhone too, but other browsers cannot. To get JPG photos from an iPhone, go to Settings, Camera, Formats and choose Most Compatible.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no account and no watermark. You can resize up to 200 photos at a time, as many times as you like.
