Product photos on white
Most shops show products on a plain white or light background, and Amazon requires pure white for the main image. Pick White and the shop's size, and the product is centred with even space around it, ready to upload.

Is my photo uploaded?
No. The background is removed by your own browser, on your device. The photo is never sent to Nookbyte or anyone else. The first time you use the tool, your browser downloads the background remover itself, about 50 MB, and keeps it, so later photos start straight away.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no limit, and the cut-out is saved at the full size of your photo.
How long does it take?
On a computer whose browser can use the graphics card, a photo takes a few seconds. Without that it runs on the processor and takes longer, often 20 to 60 seconds. You can keep using the page while it works, and the first photo also waits for the one-time download.
What photos work best?
Photos with one clear subject, such as a product on a table, a person or a pet. Hair and fur are kept in fine detail. See-through glass, thin wires and subjects that blend into the background can need a quick touch-up with the Erase and Restore brushes.
How do I fix an edge it got wrong?
Choose Erase to remove leftover background, or Restore to bring back part of the subject, then paint over the spot. Change the brush size with the slider or the [ and ] keys, and press Ctrl+Z (⌘Z on a Mac) to undo.
How do I put a product on a white background for Shopify, Etsy or Amazon?
Choose White under Background, then pick the shop under Size. The product is centred on a canvas of exactly that size, with even space around it. Shopify suggests 2048 × 2048 pixels, Etsy at least 2000 pixels on each side, and Amazon wants a pure white background, which is what White gives you.
Which file type should I save?
PNG keeps the transparent background and works almost everywhere. WebP is smaller and also keeps transparency. JPG is the smallest but cannot be transparent, so it is only offered when you choose a background colour.
What does it use to find the subject?
An open-source model called BiRefNet, released under the MIT licence, running in your browser with ONNX Runtime Web. It was trained to separate the main subject of a photo from its background.
